First Alert Forecast: shifting from unsettled to drier, cooler weather

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - Showers and locally heavy storms delivered 1.67 inches of rain to Wilmington since Saturday and similar beneficial tallies across the Cape Fear Region. Lightning was especially robust at times, but that comes with the territory of spring storms. WECT was live on air at 4 a.m. as a rogue area of storm rotation developed, and the National Weather Service has confirmed there was no tornado, but wind damage from 60 mph winds of a severe thunderstorm.
