Dru joined the WECT team in May 2021 as a reporter.
He graduated Summa Cum Laude from High Point University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in communication and minored in marketing. Dru was involved with QNews, the university’s news show, serving as a reporter and anchor. He also worked with the Office of Communication and the Office of Admissions.
He lived in Texas the summer after his sophomore year, where he interned with WNBA’s Dallas Wings, in their communication and marketing department.
Dru is originally from Wilmington and graduated from Laney High School in 2017. Growing up in the area, he was very active in the local theatre community, working with Opera House Theatre Company and Thalian Association.
Dru is so excited to come back home and tell the stories of the Cape Fear region.
When he’s not working, he loves going to local coffee shops, hanging out at Wrightsville Beach and watching sports.
