Get Fit with 6: April challenge
WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - Get ready to work your core, thighs, glutes and more. The April challenge consists of three exercises you can do at home with exercise bands. The challenge is set up for the entire month with the repetitions increasing every day.
Band Squat, Elbow to Knee
- place the band under the arches of your feet
- stand with your feet shoulder width apart
- squat down then come up extending opposite elbow to opposite knee
Band Kickbacks
- continue standing with the band under the arches of your feet
- continue standing with your feet shoulder width apart
- balance on one leg and bring the other behind you in a pulsing motion
- foot should be flexed
- alternate and do the same on the other leg
Band Side Leg Raises on the Floor
- wrap the exercise band around your ankles
- lay on your side on the floor either on the ground or on your elbow
- legs and feet are lined up on top of each other
- pulse the top leg upward
- alternate and do the same with the other leg
